This is such an unmoving game. I hardly have anything to say about it.
In 2022, Bandai Namco released Pac-Man Museum+, a collection of a vast array of Pac-Man games from the franchise’s entire history. This included even rather obscure options like Pac-Motos, which was a Motos sequel starring Pac-Man that never got a release outside of the Namco Museum Remix/Megamix titles on Wii. These were largely arcade compilations that also featured some 3D reimaginings of a handful of titles with Pac-Man as the star. In no other way are they Pac-Man games.
It was a bit puzzling to me that they left out Rally-X Remix inasmuch as Rally-X is at least a game about racing around a maze picking up objects and avoiding enemies. Very Pac-Man! The decision was made probably because it simply isn’t very good.
It’s basically Rally-X, but Pac-Man is visibly in the driver’s seat of the player’s car. Also it’s way slower and the steering is dogshit. Oops!
It’s only twenty levels or so, all of which take mere minutes to complete, so I saw it through despite its mediocrity. No real rush to run out and grab this one, though. At least I can play Gaplus now, I guess.
