This here’s a remaster of a remaster, which is the kind of thing that happens often these days it seems.

Frankly, it ain’t all that good! I love a good mascot platformer, but I just couldn’t get into this game. I found the platforming to often be a bit slippery and finicky, the music uninspired, and the graphics a bit plain. The game also struck me as more child-oriented than I expected. I’ve played plenty of Mario and Kirby and things like that, which are certainly kid-friendly games, but the cutscenes in this game almost felt like early childhood entertainment. Maybe that’s just me, idk. Just kind of a weird feeling.

Anyway, I don’t really want to write much more about this game. I didn’t love it. The good news is I’ve been enjoying the sequel, so hopefully I’ll have more thoughts on that one.
