      <description>For much of my life, I have had a pet interest in license plates. Not their legal and bureaucratic uses for registering cars to their owners, but their designs. For whatever reason, I notice them. They tickle my brain. If you, like me, have been fortunate enough to have traveled a great deal on the United States&amp;rsquo; vast network highways, you can likely recall more of the States&amp;rsquo; standard-issue designs than you might think.</description>
