Hands across the water
One more GAME CLEAR post about Monument Valley* for you. It’s very similar to the ones I covered in GAME CLEAR Nos. 266 and 267.
This one has a slightly more involved plot. There’s a little island community with a lighthouse, and protagonist Noor is tasked with restoring its light. You gather light from the game’s constituent stages. As you do so, more folks come settle on it. Cute!
I’m not sure it benefits much from its expanded characters and world. The stages are the same in number as the first two games but with that much more padding between them. I’d rather just stick to the action!
Still, I can’t blame them for trying. The visual art of the stages themselves is probably the best of the series, and that’s a high bar. The music and sound design remains as wonderfully ethereal as ever too.
A worthy way to cap off this lovely little diversion of a series. No reason not to take a quick swing through the world of Monument Valley 3 if you enjoyed the first two.
